ITINERARY:

Day 1: WINDHOEK TO NAMIB NAUKLUFT

Your tour guide will pick you up at your accommodation between 08h00 - 08h30 and travel over the Khomas Hochland, one of the highest points in Namibia, and down the steep gradients of the Gamsberg Pass. We should begin to see the first of our game species on the way from here to our campsite on the edge of the Namib- Naukluft Park, where will spend two nights.

Day 2: DUNE 45 AND SOSSUSVLEI

Pre dawn we depart to the entrance gates to Sossusvlei. We have some nice opportunities to stop on the way next to the road for beautiful photographic moments capturing the sunrise on the Dunes. A climb up the sand dunes will give a superb view up and down of the Tsaucab River Canyon which forms the valley between the famous sand dunes. Your guide will set up breakfast and prepare coffee at the bottom of the dune. After breakfast we take a short drive to the parking lot where you will undertake a 2 hour walk through to the beautiful Hiddenvlei in the Sossusvlei Area. We stop for lunch at Sesriem camp, after which we will go and explore the Sesriem Canyon by foot, before heading back to our Guest Farm.

Day 3: NAMIB NAUKLUFT PARK TO SWAKOPMUND

Some scientists regards the Namib Desert as the oldest in the world. We will travel through this desert stopping at the smallest town in Namibia, Solitaire and via the Kuiseb Canyon, home to two Germans and their dog for two years during World War 2. We include a visit to the Walvis Bay lagoon, famous for its huge numbers of flamingos. It’s a 5 hour very scenic drive to the coast. Overnight both nights at a centrally located lodge.

(Lunch can be enjoyed at a coffee shop in the town of Swakopmund and dinner at a wide range of restaurants to choose from.)

Day 4: SWAKOPMUND

Optional Activity day. This day is a free day, opportunity to partake in optional adventure activities like Quad Biking, Sand Boarding, Sky diving and Dolphin Cruise. If you do not feel adventurous you can do shopping or visit the Crystal Gallery, Museums or the Aquarium by foot.


ACCOMMODATION: CH – Swakop Lodge or Similar.

Day 5: SWAKOPMUND TO BRANDBERG

From the desert we now travel along the Atlantic coast through the fishing village of Henties Bay to the Cape Cross Seal Colony. The largest colony of Cape Fur Seals breeds here up to 250 000 and we will be able to get up close to them and watch them at their daily tasks. From there we travel inland again through dry and rocky terrain and overnight near the Brandberg, the Highest Mountain in Namibia next to the Ugab River, where we might spot the famous desert

Day 06: BRANDBERG TO KAMANJAB

We drive past Herero villages on our way to Twyfelfontein Rock Art; we were undertaking a guided walk, exploring the ancient paintings on the rocks. We travel through to the town of Kamanjab, stopping briefly to see the Petrified Forest en route (wood that fossilized into stone 260 million years ago) and the oldest plants in the world, Welwitchia mirabilis. We stay overnight nearby the village of the last traditional tribe in Namibia, the Ova-Himba, thus we will have the opportunity to visit the tribe for in depth insight into the lives, an amazing photographic opportunity.

DAY 07: KAMANJAB TO ETOSHA NATIONAL PARK

We head towards Etosha National Park for 2 days of game viewing. Our first overnight stop in Etosha will be either at Okaukuejo or Halali, both with a floodlit waterhole allows for 24-hour game viewing. Elephant and black rhinoceros are seen daily during the dry winter months & numerous other game species are also found here, including lion and leopard

DAY 08: ETOSHA NATIONAL PARK

Game driving slowly through the park we gaze in awe at the vast expanse of the Etosha Pan, itself shimmering in the midday heat. Ostrich appear like moving black dots as they wander around miles out on the salt pan. We overnight either at Okaukuejo or Halali an excellent area for seeing game of all types

DAY 09: ETOSHA NATIONAL PARK TO WATBERGE:

On our journey through to the Waterberg Plateau Park we will visit the non-profit organization of the Cheetah Conservation Funds, learning more about this fascinating creature and how the organization is helping the cheetah in its natural way. The Waterberg Plateau Park has been set aside for the breeding of rare animal species such as the white and black rhino, sable and roan antelope and the endangered cape vulture.

DAY 10: WATERBERG TO WINDHOEK:

An early morning walk up to the Waterberg Plateau will give us fascinating views of the region, before heading back to Windhoek, travelling via Okahandja, stopping at local craft markets. Arriving at lunch time in Windhoek. TOUR ENDS

Namibia has a good tourism infrastructure and generally good service standards. Throughout this trip we stay in comfortable lodges which are simple, comfortable and clean.

Minimum group sizes 2 for Accommodated Tours and 3 for all Camping Tours. Maximum group size 12
Transport for 2 -3 clients will be in Toyota 4x4 Hilux or Mercedes Benz Sprinter. 3 and more clients, transport will be either in Mercedes Benz Sprinter or Custom Build Safari Truck.
